9 Helpful Tips on Boundaries for Work and Home That You Can Start Using Right Away.

I know sometimes we need to form a line and draw boundaries so that work and personal life have some division.

I will give you 9 helpful tips that you can start using right away.

  1. Get familiar with 5-7 meals you & your family like and make them during those busy times and then have “special” or “surprise” meals on days you have more time to experiment. This is a huge time saving technique.

Check out my Podcast Interview on: Directory of a Dream Live 50+ Episode 51: Living Clean and Healthy. Enjoy!

2. Batch cook and brown a few days worth of chicken and ground meat in 2 large cast iron skillets and then when they cool pile in two separate gallon size plastic bags, flatten and get all the air out and then store in them in the freezer for when needed. If you are going to eat within the next couple days, store in 2 large glass dishes that have lids in the refrigerator.

3. Another Batch cooking tip. Cut onions and peppers into strips and then store them in a freezer (squeeze all the air out and flatten when zipping shut). Voila! They are ready when needed.

4. Buy ready made organic non-gmo rice in a packet and use for those in your family that eat grains (I do not but my husband does). I just use what amount is needed and store with a binder clip (which is cheaper then chip clips and lasts a lot longer). I also heat up in the pan for a couple minutes I used to brown and cook the meat along with some frozen and jarred veggies – Voila! Quick and healthy meal.

5. No Phones or Stressful Conversations at Meals. It sounds difficult at first but in time it gets easier. Plus it is so good for you and your digestive system. Learning to be present and mindful and enjoy your own company, or the company of your friends, love ones or work colleagues as you chew, listen and reflect.

6. Practice Single Tasking vs. Multi-tasking. When we focus our energy and attention on something for a period of time (while being present and mindful) we tend to make fewer mistakes and actually save time and energy. Plus, our minds get into a repetitive, productive mode which then makes the task on hand more enjoyable and relaxing.

7. Don’t check social media or email at least the first hour after waking up and at least an hour before going to bed – helps with anxiety.

8. Not enough time in the day to get everything on your list done? Start looking at your social media habits. Spend 30 minutes less scrolling and you can use that time towards your business, self-care or spending time with your love ones. The choice is yours. It all adds up.

9. Time blocking. For example, go through and clean up email (delete, unsubscribe, organize) only one time a week. Daily choose one or two times to check and respond to email letting the important people in your life know that they can text or call you if it’s urgent. Time blocking has changed the way I work.

Bonus: Turn off all sound notifications, on the phone.

I truly believe that heart-centered entrepreneurs want to make a difference in this world with their talents & expertise and that they seek joy, peace & connection and the need to stretch inside & out.

As creatives, we’re wired differently and tend to get overwhelmed by technology, learning as we go, and need to move past fear & anxiety to pursue our dreams.
